Advertising dropped 12 percent for the New York Times Company in the second quarter, Politico reports. The 14 percent drop in print advertising closely mirrors the declines at McClatchy and Gannett for the second quarter.

Presumably, Tronc is in the same boat as everyone else. Those numbers are expected Aug. 3rd.

NYT saw an overall net loss of $500,000 because it is moving international operations from Paris to Hong Kong. Buyouts of about 80 staffers at the Times will show up in future financial reports.
